Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Dec 03, 2016 5:10 pm Hello Everyone, I moved into my home about 2 months ago now. I am yet to start the project for my backyard (if you can call it that). I have have contacted landscapers via sms, email, approached them while working but none of them want to take the job on, some have been honest enough to say its not worth their time because the job is so small. Having said that, I understand - the backyard is on 4m(L)x12.5 (W) Now looks like myself and hopefully my partner will need to get our hands dirty. Now we are stuck already at step 1 lol. Levelling the land. We have a brief idea of what we'd like to do and i will share. The questions I have is A - what do I use to fill the gap between the fence ending and the land? Woodplank etc? B - What soil do I buy to add on top of my current one when levelling out, if soil at all? Crushed rock perhaps? C - how deep should then step when walking out of the back door be. Im sure I will have plenty of questions more but hopefully this is a start. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to assist guys, its really appreciated. P.S is anyone aware if I can add pictures? Regards Raul Re: Land Levelling/ Landscaping 2Dec 13, 2016 10:23 am You can try getting a man with a dingo/excavator. You will pay for min 4 hrs at around $400 but they are good at what they do. They will excavate your land, remove it (at an additional cost), replace with any soil that you provide and level the whole lot. As for your questions, a) yes 50mm thick sleepers preferred as it will warp and bend under over time. b) depends what you want to do in that area, grass you'd dig down 150mm and replace with lawn soil, pavers same again dig down and replace with B grade crush rock c) max 190mm min 115mm to be precise but that all depends as we will need to see photos! As for photos, check out tips and hints on this forum. Hi guys, I want to do some floor levelling before laying the planks and am considering doing it with self-levelling or yellow tongue PB board. I am wondering which one… 0 6718 Hmmm, I have checked your past posts and it seems that you are in NSW, not WA as I had thought. It pays to show your State in your avatar. Retaining wall regulations… 5 8076 Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35749 |
