Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 May 28, 2016 2:12 pm Hi everyone. I have found a large crack in my wall overnight. At its widest it's 8mm wide at the widest spot. My house was built in the 80's and it's brick. There are other small cracks around the house, but none in the brickwork outside. Does anyone know if I should just fill it in and paint over or replace the entire wall? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Grant. First thing I would do is look in the ceiling space to see if there is any roof loading on that wall. I suspect termites as well.Could have eaten the bottom plate out which you cannot see, and the studs have collapsed down. Most likely poor foam installation and render installation, Joint covered with render, foam could be sitting on flashing. Do you have any render at house 4 9317 consider putting in wall WC instead of robe in the same bedroom, then it might be doable to hook up to the existing piping. 4 6634 4 4500 |
