Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jan 03, 2016 3:16 pm Hi everyone, we recently had new tiles installed. They are a beautiful lappato porcelain in a cream colour and I love them. Before that we had a mix of polished tiles and parquetry floors. I bought a few Sabco microfibre mop - swish extra - and ever since I can't seem to keep the floors clean. I've never noticed this in all my years of living in houses with tiled floors!! I'll mop and almost straight away, my feet are dirty after walking on them again. I rinse the mop head 3-5 times as I clean with hot water and detergent. The only thing I can think of is the mop. To date I've used windex mixed with hot water and I tried Ajax with baking soda floor cleaner. That latter seemed to clean them marginally better but also left a slightly sticky residue ??. The windex solution I used to used on the polished floors and worked ok, but that was with a traditional sponge mop. I want clean floors and want my tiles looking lovely for as long as possible!! Is it the mop? Anyone else had issues? It is literally driving me crazy and I'm so close to just going back and getting the old string mop again. Any ideas? What am I doing wrong??? Re: Microfibre mop issues 2Jan 04, 2016 3:49 pm I think you might have matt finish tiles and if so can cause your issues. I would try and find a neutral floor cleaner like this one. http://www.oateslaboratories.com/Catego ... s/supastar Re: Microfibre mop issues 3Jan 04, 2016 7:52 pm Ours are actually semi gloss. I've had these before, matt and high gloss and never ever had this issue. Why would matt tiles be dirtier than any other? I've only ever heard of gloss tiles being harder to keep clean? I am looking at building a house. Has anyone used Construkt Homes (based in Adelaide)?
