Now there has been some movement over the years and there are cracks (in fact we have just had some underpinnig done). Question is what are the options for render products that would resist cracking? Prime with acraprime green render sealer (enables you to paint soon after rendering) 3. Coat with Acratex trowel on render (suggest sand finish or coventry coarse) 4. finally coat with Acrashield membrane (bridge cracking of cracks up to 2mm and elongation properties of 40% of the coating width) This is the only system which will not break down and will not show cracks. Do not settle for anything less than this 4 step system or else you will simply get those cracks you are talking about. I am saying that double brick has similar thermal performance due to thermal mass effect.
