Instead of plain wooden furniture, it can be a good idea to dress up your furniture with some prints.
If you want to transfer prints to your wooden furniture, you can do the following:
Materials:
Water decal paper sheets (the transparent ones that are suitable for inkjet printables)
Polyurethane in a spray can
Scissors
A flat tray of water
A towel
Ruler, pencil and rubber
Instructions:
• Print the graphic on your sheet. Before printing, select ‘Other Specialty Papers’. Also select ‘Best’ for Quality settings.
• After printing, spray your decal sheet with polyurethane.
• Cut your decal sheet according to the shape of your print.
• Make sure your furniture is painted before transferring the print.
• Print the same design on a normal paper. Use a ruler and pencil to mark the position of edges so you can refer to them later.
• Dip your decal sheet in some water.
• Sprinkle your furniture with some water. Then, place your decal sheet according to the markings you have indicated with the pencil earlier.
• Gently press the decal on your furniture. Then pull out the layer of paper underneath it.
• Erase your pencil markings.
• Take a towel and dry the water from the table.
• Repeat the process if you have other images remaining.
• Leave the furniture to dry in a warm and dry location.
Sounds like fun? Why not decorate your furniture with some prints today.
