Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Sep 19, 2015 12:02 pm Im sheeting a garage that is under half the house. The other have was already done when we bought it and it is a mess. Everything in this house is uneven. The house was raised by the previous owner and steel post were put in downstairs. However they stick out further than the studs. It is only one part. Do I just bend the sheet over it or do I have to pac it? Thanks for your help. Re: Steel post sticking out from studs. How to gyprock it? 2Sep 19, 2015 8:44 pm how much do they stick out by? If it's only a small amount, then you can bend it over. For a bit more, you can pack some adjacent studs as well. Otherwise you can either pack the whole wall to make it even, or cut the gyprock there and run a cover moulding over it. It depends a bit on how worried you are about the bend being visible.
