The replaced timber is approx 5mm shorter in height that the original, so I want to run a strip of packing timber along the top edge to keep the front edge of the roofing tiles consistent. What timber should I use? I was thinking primed H3 treated pine, but I can't find it in anything close to 5x45mm. Would a hardwood moulding be suitable?
