Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair  12 Oct 2010 44 VIC Junior Member 1 Aug 13, 2015 8:08 pm I want to put a shelf on a wall that has a pocket sliding door - the middle of the 1.2m shelf will have a stud for me to secure the shelf onto, but the left & right ends of the shelf will be into plasterboard and behind it a pocket sliding door. I've drawn a diagram of the cross section: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Basically, anything longer than 30mm will protrude into the cavity too far and scratch the pocket door whenever it opens and closes. The plaster is 10mm and the gap between the frame and the door is around 20mm.
