Brilliant product. No need for a plumber. You can do the work yourself. The owner is ever so helpful and is extremely knowledgeable on the topic of saving water and diverting water. The video on the product on the site is worth watching. Another product from the company solves the "overflowing gutter" issue and is another DIYer project. Do yourself a favour and check out the sites and products. Re: catching rain water 2Jun 09, 2015 9:35 pm How much water do you lose in the supadiverta from water splashing off the mesh? Re: catching rain water 3Jun 09, 2015 10:47 pm I will answer this because it is my product. The water is diverted over to the 750 micron filter mesh and during heavy rain, the water communicates with the filter mesh at an optimum 90 degrees. The filter is sloped at 50 degrees to assist with debris flushing. Most yield is lost on standard leaf diverters/filters due to debris splash, not splash off the mesh. Internal filters need to sacrifice water to flush debris. To increase efficiency by preventing debris bonding to the mesh, the multi sectioned mesh is convex, not flat and there are raised projections molded on the filter frame to allow water to flush between the frame and any debris to further aid flushing. The average yield is +96% but the filter runoff can be collected if needed. Because the Supadiverta can also eliminate the need for a water tank's overflow pipe by automatically diverting water to the stormwater system when the tank is full, the yield would then be 0%, therefore yield is subjective in some scenarios. The previously best recognised optimum yield for a downpipe diverter's internal filter was 90%. Very few downpipe diverters are fitted with internal filters and most of the ones commercialised have suffered woeful yield and blockage issues. 3in1 Supadiverta. Can a plumber put a tap on a rain water tank which is full? Tank is similar to one in photo.
