Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jan 16, 2015 2:28 pm I need to trim a length of coro roofing that's already fixed to my verandah. Has anyone had experience with nibbler drill attachments - how do they compare to dedicated nibbler tools? How about brands - Bunnings has an Irwin Falcon brand for $99 http://www.bunnings.com.au/irwin-nibble ... t_p6377500 but there are Millers Falls brand ones on ebay for less than half that - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DOUBLE-HEADE ... 232cf67b5a Are there any significant differences? They both are rated for 2mm guage alluminium, which is enough for me. Cheers in advance for any advice OE Re: nibbler drill attachment advice 3Jan 16, 2015 8:46 pm The Bunnings one is ok. If it doesn't matter how pretty it is then just go at it. But if it does, then try and practice on a piece of scrap first. Re: nibbler drill attachment advice 4Jan 19, 2015 8:15 am Thanks guys - I've heard the Bunnings ones are ok, just wondering if I can save some $55 by getting the cheaper part and still do the same job. I'm cutting about 300mm. The roofing juts out and curves down about 150mm below the rafter tails (no fascia). So there's a big overhang and the edge of the sheets hangs too low. There's no gutter and the water is falling close to my house, causing problems. I need to cut it back so I can fix a gutter to the rafter tails. Also, at points there is overlapping of sheets, would I need to lift and cut separately, or would the nibbler do two sheets at once? Re: nibbler drill attachment advice 5Jan 20, 2015 7:57 pm Save yourself the money and buy a pair of offset roofing snips. The bunnings brand ones should be fine for this application. That's where I was heading. Except don't waste your money with a cheap Bunnings pair. Get Wiss or Irwin brand. Under $25 I think. Just remember the lower jaw has to be on the waste side. Keep curling the waste upwards as you cut. the more you curl it forward the free'r it will cut Nibblers aren't as easy to use as you might think. I can just see you leaving the edge all jiggered if you aren't experienced with them Oh, and don't buy cheap snips, don't buy cheap snips. you would have a better chance with scissors I have a box of quality drill bits that seem to be new but their engraved sizes covered by rust ,,,,I tried to sand them to see their sizes but still I am finding… 0 1464 Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing.
