a friend is having a house built the sliding door has been installed and brick work has started but when door is closed its not sitting level in frame is this fixed after brick are done and before gyprock is installed or is it just a small fix later by adjusting rollers on door ?

I would expect as you have suggested that this would be a minor adjustment later on. The door was just probably placed in quickly to get it in there and will be fine tuned later.
I would happily stand corrected if anyone else has had a different experience.

And yes, if you still want to use MLV, best way will be to cover the full section of the pocket wall between gyprock and studs.
