Been in a our home for getting close to a year now and need to organise a clothes line now that it's warmer weather to save using the dryer. We've been using clothes horses outside in the meantime. Our house was built new but as always they never come with everything like the TV antenna that I arranged upon settlement, and in our case a clothesline.
We've decided on one of those folding wall/fence mounted ones. The dilemma I have is that I've got one but the wife really wants it mounted to the back fence. They're colourbond fences and mounting it on the posts isn't an option because they're too wide for the mounting brackets to fit. The brackets need to be 2200mm apart and the posts are something like 3000mm apart from each other.
My sister in law has hers mounted on her colourbond fence but with this steel bracket thing that's attached to the fence. I've never seen anything like it before and have searched high and low for such a thing with countless numbers of different combinations of google searches. It seems that such a thing doesn't exist which is driving me absolutely crazy. She never built the house nor put up the clothes line so she wouldn't know. It would almost appear that someone handy made it, or had it made, for the specific purpose and exact measurements.
Is there any other solution that can be suggested? Or will we just have to put it up on a wall?
I'm not into the idea of putting in poles, mucking around with concreting etc etc. Spent enough money already and it's not worth it just for a clothes line.
