Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Sep 09, 2012 8:05 am I have a poster pasted on a 3mm foam board that I want to hang it or stick it on the wall. The foam board is over 1m wide and folds up when I try to hang it. I am thinking of sticking a thin strip of wooden behind the foam board which may prevent it from folding. Is there a better solution that some of you can think of? What about using double-sided tape? Is it strong enough to hold the foam board? Re: How to hang or stick foam board on the wall? 2Sep 09, 2012 9:26 am I use velcro dots for jobs like this. If you want to use double sided tape the best is that with the foam in the middle. This stops peeling if the wall is a bit uneven and make sit easier to take down. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! I've few more questions. Are the velcro dots easier to remove from the wall when needed? With the double sided tape, I'm not sure what you meant by "...with the foam in the middle". Is that a special kind of double sided tape. Any brand you can recommend and where can I find these? Thanks Re: How to hang or stick foam board on the wall? 4Sep 09, 2012 10:49 am Velcro dots bing about the size of a 1$ coin are easier to remove than a line of double sided tape. You would probably only need 4. Some double sided tape is one layer of plastic with adehesive each side. For a little more you can get a tape which is a thin layer of foam in the middle. Can't remember the brands but you can buy both at the big green DIY shop The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! I put two of the 11kg ones in for a 12kg mirror on the wall, and its been great for 4 years now. 4 2162 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6219 Oh no! I would use a can of expandable foam ( there are some that will take render) then cut it back and render over the top 1 4222 |
