Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jul 10, 2012 2:25 pm Hi All, A few days ago we noticed the mixer tap in the kitchen seemed to be putting out water which was a bit warmer than usual when in the neutral position. I tried adjusting the cold and hot water taps at the wall connecting to the mixer lines in an attempt to readjust the flow. To my surprise, the hot water tap under the sink would not turn off. Just wondering if this is a major problem if the valve is stuck? Could it cause the tap fittings to leak/burst at some stage?? I’m assuming it’s the same as having the supply tap turned on to full. Re: Hot water supply tap stuck... 2Jul 10, 2012 3:07 pm Can't imagine it being a major problem! Far as I know it's main purpose is isolation for repairs/replacement at the local tap rather than isolate the mains and drain the whole house! It may reduce the flow rate if you close it down but with the tap off I think the line pressures are the same with the valve fully open or partially open! :ugeek: 2 Re: Hot water supply tap stuck... 3Jul 10, 2012 4:16 pm Because the isolation valves are rarely used, much like the one under your toilet cistern, they can freeze up and need repairs/replacing. Arfur Can a plumber put a tap on a rain water tank which is full? Tank is similar to one in photo. Cheers. 0 1664 That's a fantastic result! Happy you got it sorted out. cheers Simeon 6 8630 the sun master is the solar heating to "warm" the water in the tank the S26 is your hot water system which will heat the water (25 degrees?) so with both turned on you… 2 12404 |
