Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Feb 08, 2012 9:28 pm Just moved in our new property which completed 3 months ago and found there is crack/gap between the cornice and gyprock, as well as gap/crack between floor tiles and wall. What caused those issues? Are these just need maintenance or something like structural issue e.g. slab movement? I have attached two photos below. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h369/umehomes/DSC_0050.jpg http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h369/umehomes/gaporcrackbetweentileandgyprock-1.jpg Please share what you think. Thanks heaps Re: Crack found at cornice and floor tiles 2Feb 21, 2012 3:52 pm New homes can settle after moving in but it looks like their has been movement in the walls. I would contact your builder to come and fix. There should also be silicon between the tiles and the wall, if it is just grout it will show if there is any movement.
