Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jan 10, 2012 9:35 am Hi there, We're in the throws of picking colours for our house which is being painted on Monday and the choice of roof will affect our choice of wall colour... Originally we wanted a Surfmist roof and guttering but the more we drive past houses with the Surfmist or Shale Grey roof the more we see grotty patches and leaves, dirt etc. and it looks awful. We decided we'd probably go Windspray last week but I guess I still have my heart set on a lighter colour given we want grey walls... t'd be nice to have the window frames match the roof for some contrast. SO I guess my question is, if you have a perpetually clean and sparkling Surfmist roof, how do you keep it that way? Our new house has no big trees overhanging it so we won't need to worry about leaves so much... Re: COLORBOND SURFMIST... how do you keep it looking clean? 2Jan 10, 2012 9:53 am +1 I have wondered if maybe it's the older Colorbond houses that get the grey/coloured patches on them, due to the degradation of the paint surface? There's a few Surfmist houses around where I live now (older suburb) and the houses that have been built in the last 10 to 15 years still look great!!! Even ones that may have been around longer than that (say 20 years) still look good.... It's just the ones that have had their rooves for maybe 25+ years that have those marks. Then again, maybe the people in my area have too much time on their hands..... Dover white or surfmist garage door. I am having trouble choosing a garage door. The outside of house will be tranquel retreat. I want it to all blend nicely however I… 0 6830 Thank you so much. We ended going with the terrain that’s part of our brick. 2 2539 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 18569 |
