Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Oct 14, 2011 10:30 am I need to mount two garden taps on a single mains outlet. I might have seen somewhere a brass Y-piece that would be perfect for that, but I can't find on the net nor in Bunnings. I've got a garden irrigation multiplexer, but it's no good for what I need. Any plumbers out there, who could give advice how best to do it ?? I have bought several over the years. Make sure you get a quality one some of the cheaper ones have porous castings and leak The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Mine were hanging up on one of those racks rather than on a shelf at the end of the tap/ retic section. And although I explained what I wanted stated the name of the product. and they could find it on their computer they weren't able to spot it for me. I managed to find it myself eventually. this is the one I bought. I've searched Bunnings in Morley for 1/2 hr, looking for it. The innocent young thing I've asked about it couldn't find it, so I've decided not to waste any more time and bought: 1 t-piece, 1 elbow, 1 threaded nipple. Here's the result: http://i330.photobucket.com/albums/l413/kristofw/DSC00004.jpg Quote: Can't tell you how well it works as DH has so far refused to install it. Well, maybe it's the time for an enterprising gal to grab a few tools, some thread tape and show DH up Chris My father rode a camel, I drive a car, my son flies in a jetliner, his son will ride a camel.Saudi saying Re: How to multiplex the garden tap?? 5Oct 16, 2011 10:44 am I wish. Getting a plumber here to fix it would be an issue if it went pear shaped. Re: How to multiplex the garden tap?? 6Oct 16, 2011 3:47 pm kexkez I wish. I'm no plumber and doing that stuff in the pic took me less than 20 minutes. There's an old Polish proverb that roughly translates to: the eyes are afraid of the job, but the hands will know how to do it. I guess it's a matter of need. he doesn't see the need yet. thanks Re: How to multiplex the garden tap?? 8Oct 16, 2011 4:11 pm Hi All, If you are at the Morley Bunnings then go to where the retic timers are and the Y fittings are on teh opposite side about 3 meters down. They have the same ones and also ones where each spout has a little tap already, that way you can just add it on. Hope you find it if you are still looking but your way also works.... These usually provide reduced flow with a narrower opening . where as the ones that Kris and I showed you get full pressure though. The 2nd one would be like the 2 way posted earlier by me or Kris's version. Except the one I showed you can actually add a full tap handle to each end so you can have both or one on or off that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7392 7 5139 Brass or 2) Stainless steel made - which Kitchen tap is good for drinking.Brass kitchen taps in Australia contain lead… 0 6734 |
