The front of our clay tiled roof needs a good clean as there is a lot of lichen on it - I had a quote from a roof restorer and it was hugely expensive. I dont mind paying someone to clean it but at what would have been a $400 per hour rate Im not interested! I have a friend with a pressure cleaner - and he has offered to loan it to us. Does anyone know if it is difficult to get the lichen off with a pressure cleaner - and is it something I can get my teenage son to do? Alternatively, if anyone knows anyone who will clean it at a good rate then I would appreciate a recommendation.

I've had great success cleaning lichen off terracotta roof tiles with a high pressure cleaner. There's also a product you can apply (after the tiles have been cleaned) that inhibits the further growth of lichen, however I can't remember the name of it.
