Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Re: Best product for sealing an asbestos fence. 8Jun 15, 2011 3:29 pm Hi Avion, I can't understand why your neighbour doesn't want the fence removed especially as you've offered to cover the expense...I reckon if you just went ahead and did it he wouldn't take you to court. Even if he did, I wouldn't think asbestos would get much of a sympathy vote. That aside, I have painted asbestos in my home with a sealer called gripset exterior waterproofing paint. Bunnings tell me this brand has recently been bought by 'Betta' waterproofing paints. They offered another product called 'Crommelin' exterior waterproofing membrane, comes in grey or white. It is extremely flexible, elastomeric, and UV resistant and also recommended for asbestos. I also reckon you could use emerclad flexible membrane coating, and you could tint it to what ever colour you like. Just remember, the more flexible and UV resistant, the longer it will last and you won't have to worry for another 10-15 years, as long as you use a good primer first. hope this helps camelia Re: Best product for sealing an asbestos fence. 9Oct 26, 2014 9:25 pm an answer without opinion - use Sealant paint - try and spray it on. same stuff you'd use for concrete - as recommended and used by my building inspector. as i am about to venture into a similar project.
