Re: British Paints Ceiling Paint Flat Acrylic 4May 13, 2011 9:41 pm Thanks for reply- On the first day, i did a sample test in a small area- my conclusion DONT USE IT ON THE WALLS!! Because- Ceiling paints: 1.Get's dirty easily 2. Not easy to clean - Can not simple "wipe off" 3. Very rough surface, feels a bit like " very fine sand paper" lol I asked the Bunnings guy, and he said pretty much the same- it's flat paint so not easy to "clean" ....i guess that's why it's Ceiling paint; whats the chances you will dirty or touch the Ceiling??? unless you have a food fight. Regards Michael Hi Micheal, I am a professional painter, Ceiling paint or flat acrylic paint have good hiding properties and are generally used for ceilings or areas where there are defects that need covering up. As stated above they they are not as easy to wash/wipe down as washable low sheen paints but could be used if you choose to do so. Ideally if you have small children this is not ideal. There are brands on the Market such as Dulux Wash & wear which have good repealing properties and hold up well to constant cleaning, if you use a premium interior low sheen paint you wont have any issues with cleaning . Re: British Paints Ceiling Paint Flat Acrylic 7Mar 18, 2012 9:16 am It could just be that it's British Paints. They are my least favourite Bunnings paint. We did a feature wall with them and it took more coats and was harder to work with than either Wattyl or Dulux Today is under construction. Thank you for understanding. Re: British Paints Ceiling Paint Flat Acrylic 8Mar 19, 2012 1:35 am Excalibur is correct. Ceiling paint is for ceilings and brand has nothing to do with it. The main offenders for dirtying ceilings are electricians, A/C installers and anyone who uses the manhole to accesses the roof space. What concerns me is your described 'gritty' feel of the finished test-paint, or didn't you prepare the surface at all? Or have a dirty/cheap/perished roller? Dirty brush?
