Over the past few weeks we've noticed a bad smell coming from the tankwater. DH has cleaned the inlet area on the tank as there were lots of rotting leaves however the smell is still there. Is there anything we can use in the tank to neutralise the smell that won't damage the pump? The tank is full from all the Melbourne rain and the water is used frequently (2 young kids - lots of toilet flushing). Thanks for any advice! I would chuck a few chlorine tablets usually you can get them from your local pool shop. It is something that you need to do from time to time so that it does not happen again.
