Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Oct 27, 2010 7:34 pm Hi There, situation: weatherboard home, 50s, cracked plasterboard. But its not too bad just on some joints. Plus new plasterboard, you look at it, there is a dent. The old boards are just indestructable. Door knob from the front door banged against it, lost its paint. Board still in shape. Would have went straight trough plasterboard. So I want to keep the old boards if possible. My idea is: where they are pushed together and peel from the wall, I just cut a little gap to relief the pressure, scratch a V-gap, sand it smooth where it buckles and fill it all up, paint, done. Any help, ideas, suggestions? Captn Hoek. Re: how to repair fibrous plasterboard 4Oct 29, 2010 8:59 pm Captn Hoek Hi There, situation: weatherboard home, 50s, cracked plasterboard. And, the paper stuff just does not cut it, has more dents after 4 months than the rest after 60 years. Should have put FC sheet next to the manhole, no idea how long that new bard is going to last my ladder leaning agaunst it. Re: how to repair fibrous plasterboard 6Nov 29, 2010 9:33 pm You actually were spot on with your own suggestion.
