This is because out layout had the drainage at the end of the room. If your tub is in the middle with the machine at the end you wouldn't need to worry about this so much! it was pretty easy, since generally laundries are just one line of cabinets. Ikea often can recommend an installer or you could try it yourself. bunnings have a DVD to show you how to do it.
