It is about half the pressure it used to be. Any ideas why this might be? Thanks in advance Mel Re: low pressure with hot water 2Sep 21, 2010 9:25 pm A number of possibilities. In one case that I know, plumber's tape had torn/deteriorated and collected in the shower head. So, I suggest take out the shower head to check (this will at the very least eliminate the showerhead as a possiible cause). Re: low pressure with hot water 7Sep 29, 2010 7:48 pm If your cold is affected, then it would be the filter on your meter, but if its your hot and its happening to all taps its one of three things. 1. like someone else said, check the tempering valve. 2. If you have a rinnai type instanteous HW unit, check the fliter on the inlet. Its on the cold water line above the isolating valve. 3. if you have a storage unit, it could be a faulty duo valve or other type of isolating valves (if its older). Otherwise it could be the plastic immersion tube on the outlet line. If you open the outlet conection youll see the end of a nylon tube. Sometimes these crumple due to heat and restrict the outlet passage of water. Its a matter of removing this with a screwdriver and multi grips. Its not absolutely necessary to have one (it just makes the unit a little bit more efficient) If the problem is only on your showers, its the resrictors blocking. just remove the rose and take them out.
