Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Sep 21, 2010 4:11 pm We moved into our new house finally last month, but when I ran the bath for the first time, I walked away while it was filling, and came back to find the water looking green. Really obvious green too. So I emptied it and filled it again, thinking it could be some residue in taps/pipes etc, but no, the same thing. Our bath is a big white bath and I expected the water to look clear? I spoke to a different builder about it and he said it was pretty normal (for it to look green). But when I speak to other people, they say the water definitely shouldn't be green. Any thoughts? Re: Our bath water is green?! 2Sep 21, 2010 6:03 pm Run the taps for a long long time until it goes clear. Re: Our bath water is green?! 4Sep 21, 2010 11:47 pm I have no ideas at all. I am just intrigued on this one. I havent tried my baths as yet and they seem very white. A swimming pool gets very green when filling from the tap but perhaps its cos it is deep. Lets hope someone can shed some light. A display home lady once told me the first thing they do when they get into a new display is turn all the taps on (esp bath) for AGES to let the crap water clean out the pipes which have been sitting there growing crud for months while the house was built.. Re: Our bath water is green?! 9Sep 23, 2010 1:10 pm Don't forget to catch the water and re use it!!!!! I don't care that they lifted restriction on Melbourne, we still have stuff all water. Bathroom renovation will likely include a back-to-corner bath and we’re considering a freestanding tap with hand-held shower such as the picture included.
