Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jul 03, 2010 9:20 pm Hi There The previous owners of our home installed a split system unit onto the main bedroom wall, I dislike the look of it on the wall and want to have it removed, obviously the wall will need plastering after the unit is taken down, my question is whom would I call to remove the unit for me? A Handyman?? such as 'Hire A Hubby' ? Thankyou Re: Removing a Split System unit off a bedroom wall ? 2Jul 03, 2010 10:21 pm It should be an AC installer as they need to pump the gas down into the outside unit to ensure it doesn't escape out - the gas from ACs is horrible for the environment. Plaster patching is a simple job; I would expect a handyman to be able to do it.
