Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jun 21, 2010 3:56 pm Hi Guys, My landscapers were laying the turf at the back a few weeks back, and he mentioned that the soil at the back is very damp and wet and seems that there could be a broken pipeline at the back where my easement is. I didn't give much thought, but now, my fencing guys who are putting a fence around the veggie patch is saying the same thing. Called my builder but according to the plans of building, he was didn't do any work at the back and the concrete foundation was about 4-5m from the easement. I am trying to get the builder to send in the plumber to ascertain if there actually is a problem w the pipe work (if anything is broken). How much do you guys reckon would cost to repair a broken pipe that seems to me to be at least 5-6 feet under the flower bed! I think I'm gonna spend a bomb here. Plus builder, landscaper and fencers will (obviously) deny their faults! sigggghzzz....~ Pls advise! Thanks!! Re: Easement at back | possible pipe breakage? 2Jun 21, 2010 4:41 pm Hi, You mention an easement. Is that for a sewer main or a large stormwater drain? If that was leaking, but nothing to do with your recent activity, would it be to your cost? What do your survey and drainage etc plans show? Cheers You should be able to encase the sewer but you will need it designed and approved and access to lot 580 to do the work 2 17118 You might be able to apply to divert the sewer at your expense. In NSW you would contact a Water services co-ordinator and they would give you advice as to whether or not… 1 16127 Thanks - yea sounds like I need to submit build over easement application....ugh guess I better start finding someone who can do the engineering drawings 3 3325 |
