The plumber is coming tomorrow to replace an old 1/2 inch galvanised pipe with some 20mm copper that runs from the gas meter to the HWS about 15metres away. This will enable some brick vents to be installed and better access to under the house. He is also putting a bayonet point just off the side of the pipe for some future heating.
He'll be here for about 2-3 hours and wants $870 for the job. He says he'll need three lengths of copper (about $80 each)
What do others think of the cost?
