Unfortunatly if only it we're under good circumstances, currently we're building a home in NSW and we've seem to hit a bit of a bump. It seems that some sort of growth or probally loss of colour is occuring to the bricks we've chosen while building and we don't really understand why? Asked a few brick retailers about it and pretty much telling me that the bricks we're faulty in the first place and whoever put them up wasn't really looking at them. The problem only seems to be external because looking at them from the inside of the house they look brand spankin new. The funny thing is that its only the bottom half of the house that seems to have this issue, and only one one side but it also seems to have spread to even the other bricks. Decided to put up a few pictures to give you guys a idea of what im talking about. http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/8531/before1w.jpg http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/8531/before1w.jpg The builders brought in another company to try and clean it apperantly and it seems to have removed atleast most of the rustiness: http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/3894/afterhz.jpg Although the colour still is slightly there but it wasnt as bad as it was. The problem now is what we're going to do about the remaining bricks, pulling the whole wall down for just a few bricks in some spots dosnt seem like its worth it. I got a few ideas at a few retailers who told me a easy way to fix it is to just "brick stain" the damaged bricks. Although i just wanted to get a few more ideas if anyone knows about these things.
