Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Apr 02, 2010 12:19 am I will be in NSW for a little over a week as I see it... Now there is a catch. The trip I have planned is to Sydney... arriving Wednesday morning, city to Lithgow by road and around to polish some concrete, ...back to Sydney to the North Shore to look at a problem pool, then Inner West to problem solve a waterproofing issue. In case anyone hasn't already figured out, 'our' core business is waterproofing,... houses, walls, roofs, tanks, decks... have I missed something?? just ask..K? My passion is concrete... Polished, exposed, benchtops, furniture(concrete), problem solving concrete issues... broken, cracked, damaged, slippery... Issues with...house slabs, driveways, pools, floors etc,... have I missed anything?... just ask...K? What is the catch? ... to benefit from my knowledge as an unbiased observer with 20 years in the waterproofing industry as a sole trader and 30 years as a concrete repairer, placer, finisher. Making a time for you to be available IS THE CATCH. Now there may be a cost... ... if you can get some benefit from my experience and only if you benefit. Now, if you have an issue that I can't (I hate that word) ... am not able to resolve, suggest a method of repair, enlighten, or truly benefit from... then my time is free. This trip, I am not available for a chat, time is of the essence...there is work to be done... ...rest assured I will be back, ...in a few weeks. If you feel I could be of benefit to help resolve something... PM me. If you feel this is just an advertisement you’re correct...If you think I am a smart ars* or worse.. not even... and this is a gimmick you are wrong... I have too much too loose to BS anyone and anyone that knows me, knows that is not me. Now, if you are in Victoria and I have enough interest I will consider heading south.... From there I have some friends and some people I could do with touching base with in SA, some of which I made commitments to, so the same goes there. BTW I am the boss, the owner, the one whose butt gets kicked if something goes wrong. Anyhow the plane leaves Tuesday evening... the redeye(midnight flight) will arrive at 6am Wednesday 7Th April and I will be ready to roll. Remember PM me if you think I might be worthy. See you there, Onc Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Re: Onc_artisan goin'... East!!! Want some helpful advice... 2Apr 02, 2010 7:26 am wow that's a lot of words... took me while to get the gist of it, but onc, are you telling us this? : you'll be in sydney from 7th april for a week, if anyone wants a quote on waterproofing or concrete, to pm you? happy easter & have a great trip! Want some helpful advice... 3Apr 02, 2010 9:40 am I think a week was more of a joke than anything... it will be a tad more than that. Also, not just waterproofing, any concrete issues, not quoting really, more problem solving. ... although that too I guess... I just figured I will be there and many people have issues with some stuff and they could direct me to it. May as well... ... not trying to be big headed but I know some stuff and would like to share the benefit of that, with any of you guys on here. Where you are coming from is where you are going to... East!!! Want some helpful advice... 5Apr 02, 2010 12:50 pm Thanks Fu... Yep my idea is to be available... as I know it can be tough to get people when you want... ... and not be gouged and given bad advice. ...and with winter approaching no better time than now to try and resolve waterproofing issues better than while it is pelting down with rain... and the concrete issues. Onc Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Re: Onc_artisan goin'... East!!! Want some helpful advice... 8Apr 04, 2010 10:56 am Well, onc, I'm not likely to drag you up to the Hills to look at some < 1mm contraction cracks that are now only visible in our garage floor. (though I might PM you to find out the best product to use to fill them before I do some sort of finish on that floor - though that job is a fair way down on a long to-do-list). But we do have some excellent wineries within a stone's throw of our place......... Cheers zeke Re: Onc_artisan goin'... East!!! East!!! Want some helpful advice... 19Apr 12, 2010 4:46 pm Hi Onc, Hope all is well Thanks again for your awesome efforts last week. Very few in this world go to the effort that you did to make out "test" happen. Trust me, getting quotes is hard enough, let alone getting someone to fly across a continent to show how polished concrete is really done. Everyone, a low down on what i'm talking about. Onc travelled from Margaret River WA to Lithgow (Country NSW), to do a test slab of polished concrete for me. We were very keen on the idea but just couldn't seem to make it happen, particularly in light of having to use locally sourced materials (local concrete batching plant restrictions). Not all went to plan: Batching plant had wrong grade aggregate - We had to organise a special delivery. Batching plant had no oxide - onc drove to Sydney and back to get oxide. Rained on the day of the pour - because the concrete delays put us a day behind. Local Hire outlet didnt hold the generator required - onc sourced from Sydney Generator not entirely up to spec for the specialized grind equipment. Onc handled it all in his stride, nothing was a hassle. job done. Guys if anyone has need for Onc's particular set of concrete skills dont hesitate to contact him. He is passionate about his "grey lady", and i personally am very thankful for being able to utilise him. BTW - we are very pleased with the results, and 99% sure our floor will be Onc'ed. Cheers, ozberg Re: Onc_artisan goin'... East!!! If it's part of a normal subdivision it would have had a contamination report done… 9 5645 The warning is on the sticker on the door too. Second the aluminium powdercoat 6 18202 |
