Whilst putting in aircon on Saturday we discovered some of the bearers were affected by termites. I need to replace them obviously which is no big deal, however I am more interested in getting the source of the termites exterminated. Just wondering if anyne can recommend a good exterminator. I am after recommendations of people that have actually had an issue, and had someone actually fix the termite problem. I'm in Sunbury btw, so somewhere nearby would be good. Thanks in advance. Re: Renovations were going well....discovered termites 2Mar 03, 2010 10:53 pm From speaking to the experts a - the biggest thing I've learnt is to be very very gentle around them - do not disturb them or touch the timber as any tube disturbance and the smell of humans sends them running away from that area for months - so that makes trying to find them and exterminate them is much much harder. Stuff I've used goes back to the nest - takes longer but kills the entire source - as opposed to the workers at the area you found them.
