He reckoned it is the same as the commercial ss cleaners - I never got around to trying it though sorry. I use an oil-based SS cleaner, like suh, but olive oil is fine. WD-40 is a bit smelly, but if you don't mind that, go for it. I do the stove every couple of weeks (in between, soapy water and drying well works fine), same with the dishwasher front panel. I'm also about to re-oil our outdoor light fittings. Re: Removing Streaks in Stainless Steel 9Feb 13, 2010 4:38 pm Nitric Acid instantly removes staining from stainless steel . But , since 9/11 it's a prohibited item . Some smaller hardware stores still stock it however . Using Nitric on an investment house I had in Harvey Bay I was able to remove some god aweful brown stain on a kitchen sink that resisted all other stuff . Took less that a minute to be effective .
