Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jan 18, 2010 2:01 pm Hey everyone, Our house in (Wellington, NZ) has some wet rot on a board (see pictures). So basically I'm just wanting to replace it. I was think ply wood would be the best as its treated and doesn't adsorb water. What are your thoughts? Here are some pictures if you want: http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh37/JamesTrick/P18-01-10_1202.jpg http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh37/JamesTrick/P18-01-10_1203.jpg Cheers, James Re: Replacing rotten board. 2Jan 18, 2010 5:07 pm James, The board looks like some sort of fibro material? If you want to replace it with ply then make sure you choose exterior grade and the quad moulding you could replace with some treated pine quad (same cross section as you have, just treated pine) Hope this helps and good luck Thanks for clarifying.
