Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jan 14, 2010 8:34 pm Hi All, We've been in our house almost 2 years. It's about 15 years old and the bathrooms were fully renovated sometime in the last 5 years. By and large they're in pretty good condition except for the current issue in the ensuite as follows. Looking to carpet our bedroom as it currently has tiles on the floor, however of late we've noticed that the ensuite shower seems to be leaking into the wall, which by the way also has a cavity sliding door installed. As a result the wall seems to warp and buckle, the sliding door seems to swell only to then keep jamming and falling off the slide rail. Do I need to get a Builder to rip out the wall/door and fix it all up or will one of those shower waterproofing guys be able to fix it? I'm refering to the guys who do the treatments without removing tiles etc... Thanks Re: Ensuite Shower problem 2Jan 14, 2010 9:04 pm Been there, done that, with a one year old house. Hard to say, I'm no expert, but based on our experience of repeated attempts to get the en suite and adjoining wir fixed and the recurring damp smell eradicated I would say rip it all out so that you can actually see what is going on inside the wall and and then fix it properly. Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6144 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11839 |
