Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Dec 10, 2009 8:18 am My lounge room ceiling is sagging bad and I need to fix it asap before the whole thing comes down. It has obviously only been secured with nails rather than the proper screws and I recently had new insulation put in. The nails have popped out and the cornice is starting to be pulled from the roof because of the sagging pressure. I stick a screwdriver through the plaster near one of the popped out nails and it is a good 10cm before I hit the beams. How am I going to fix this? I have the plasterboard screws to screw them off beside the nails but do I need to get some sort of ceiling jacks (like a car jack or something but a bigger version) to push the board back up while I go around screwing it back onto the beams? Re: Urgent ceiling help 2Dec 10, 2009 8:58 am Yep... Acro props from the nearest hire place, with a timber 4x2 on top of the prop to spread the lift.
