It can be difficult with some tanks to reach the mesh from the top inlet and this task is rarely considered when the tank is optioned. 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Gutters overflowing 22Dec 27, 2012 7:37 am I think lisanne has the most practical answer, drilling additional overflows is cheap and I would not worry about gutters corroding. Spacing of downpipes at max 12M is important but don't overlook valleys (down pipe or an overflow should be within 1.2M of the valley). Valleys are concentrated points of water discharge and a frequent cause of overflow and facia rot. Beware of downpipes discharging into garden: possible foundation destabilisation and increased termite risk from dampness. I have used surface tension leaf guard guttering when building school fire refuges in the Dandenongs ( Olinda PS, The Patch PS Belgrave South PS and Panton Hill PS), and it is excellent. EDITED 03/07/18 The 3 part National Construction Code (NCC) which comprises of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) Parts 1 & 2 and the Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA) Part3 can now be downloaded free of charge. Note that the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) has inserted a Victorian variation in the PCA under Part D1 which removes the BCA as a deemed to satisfy requirement for roof drainage installations. Only the referenced Australian Standards are permitted. All States and Territories have different variations within the PCA that covers different plumbing work and checking for applicable variations must always be a prerequisite when checking applicable regulations. Local council regulations may also apply. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. Cleaner Neater Smarter Cheaper Supa Gutter Pumper.
