I am currently starting to paint my outside garden wall and are having major issues with choosing the right colour.
Normally this is a easy process where you choose the right paint (Dulux Weathershield) and then the selected colour of choice and then start painting.
My problem is I have choosen the colour from the Dulux colour chart and have starting painting put the finish colour is about 3-4 shades lighter then the one choosen of the colour chart. I have followed the following procudure.
1. The Wall is made from brick.
2. The wall is already painted with a green/light blue colour.
3. I cleaned the wall of all matter. e.g. dirt etc
4. Paint with undercoat.
5. Colour choosen is an Olive colour and have applied three coats over 5 days.
I went back to the paint shop on two occasions and requested they added extra tint into the paint which has darken the colour but still no way near the colour that is on the colour chart.
The paint is matching the colour when I place a sample on the chart but not when I apply it to the wall.
My question is how do you get the colour you choose of the chart for external use. I know there are always issues with choosing colours and things that might effect the finished product, e.g. orginal colours, sun light, wall made of timber or brick etc.....
Do you need to choose 4 shades darker when choosing, any ideas would be much appreciated.
