Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Oct 12, 2009 12:16 pm Hello We have just purchased a rendered brick home. A couple of things were brought to our attention in the pest inspection. 1. Construction rubble was under the house and would need to be removed. 2. An external access point would need to be inserted for the sub-floor space 3. An extra sub-floor access point would need to be fitted to the kitchen floor (wooden floorboards) I seem to have struck a bit of a roadblock with this. Obviously we would like to get a second quote for the work outlined in the inspection report. The guy has quoted us (very roughly and we are trying pin him down to give us a formal quote) anything up to $7k for the work stated above including treatment with Termidor. Can anyone recommend someone that can either do all of the worked listed above (excluding the Termidor treatment as we have a second quote for this already) or separate jobs? I have requested quotes from Gray Army (who thought the external access would need to be fitted by a builder due to structural issues since its below the floor line). We would prefer not to have a working bee of friends to remove the construction rubble as i know its not the most pleasant job in the world...
