Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Sep 15, 2009 7:43 pm have had some paint spills on our slate flooring pretty sure it is acrylic is very hard to get off, painting buddy said ti try soap and a soft steel wool he also said instead of laboriously doing that, and then re-sealing it ... it may be an option to paint the slate. Scratch it off with a scraper or small tool (ask for one at the hardware and see the looks you get ) until there is only a residue of paint then steel wool it dry turning the wool. Wipe it with a damp cloth to see if there is any more paint Remove any, the job will be better then ... reseal only the tiles you scrubed. Where you are coming from is where you are going to...
