If only superficial can be treated with a bleach solution and wipe it off If it is well entrenched in the brickwork and mortar a more drastic solution is required like removal of a line of bricks and new ones fitted with a mix of mortar and anti damp solution. Oh yeah that too but it wasn't around when I did my work on this type of problem LOL! I thnik injecting may be effective although I would wait until the summer to apply or inject (assuming it is the one I know). Re: Product for Rising Damp? 6Feb 15, 2010 5:49 pm I've heard of a product called Ardex WPM 300 water-based 2 part epoxy membrane...meant to be good at stopping hydrostatic pressure, but if it's in the walls then I think you need to replace the damp course. Neighbour has liquid siloxane injection and says its working well. I'll ask again in a year. Re: Product for Rising Damp? 8Feb 19, 2010 8:40 pm Re-plastering doesn't necessarily mean the damp problem is solved...my neighbour re-plastered his bedroom only to find 6 months later the damp had returned. If the wall was first damp proofed by the tradesman before he plastered them, then it should be OK. Otherwise the bricks themselves need treating as previously discussed in these threads.
