It seems as though its never been taken off in its life and all the lime scale has fused the thing together. I've used a reasonable amount of force, and I don't really want to end up breaking it by trying to force the thing off with multigrips. Any thoughts? Re: Fixing a leaking tap 2May 22, 2007 11:26 am You're heading in the right direction.
Get some lemon juice or CLR to remove the lime calcification. Pour it down the top section and let it sit for a few days till it gets loose. The handle is meant to lift straight up, and it is on a shaft with a flat section. So clear up the scale and you'll get there. Patience and gentle as it goes or yes, you could have issues. Good luck Cheers Steve Re: Fixing a leaking tap 3May 22, 2007 11:44 am A gentle tap with a hammer on the copper shaft will have the same result...
