Hi everyone,
Yesterday I cleaned our oven - it was REALLY bad inside from previous owners.
Instead of trying the good old bicarb and water/vinegar trick i went out to the shop and bought a can of EASY OFF oven.
It did a fantastic job - but STUPID STUPID me sprayed it in the back of the oven (its fan forced) all over the grill covering the fan. So of course heaps has gone behind the grill and onto the fan and probably the heating element also.
Now i have the problem of using the oven - it stinks when its turned on. I've just had it on 160 degrees for about an hour and the smell seems to have reduced but when you open the door and have a whiff it is still noticeable. I wouldnt say its highly offensive or anything but you can definitely tell its a cleaning type of smell.
I have just been reading that the spray on oven cleaners should not be sprayed onto fans/elements as it makes them corrode. GREAT!!
I'm not sure if i should attempt to remove the cover and clean the fan, or just get some bicarb and vinegar and spray it back there and hope it takes the smell away, or just do nothing and never do it again and hope it doesnt put bad tastes in food????
Anyone got annyyyy idea for me please?
