Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jun 13, 2009 11:59 pm Hi, I have a couple of questions re tree removal, also stumping/underpinning a house in Newtown. I have applied to the council for the removal, and the tree is huge, and is growing at a big angel, with a big branch overhanging the house. I think it is also causing problem to the structure of the building as well, so want to have it removed. Can anyone recommend a tree removal company/person? Also, someone told me that the root of the tree will rot after the tree is removed, and if the root under the foundation of the building rots, there is a chance that building will move further. At the moment, there is quite a few cracks on both the exterior and interior wall already. I am considering stumping/underpinning down the track, but have also heard that since it is clay type of soil (Newtown), even the house is underpinned/re-stumped, there is still a chance for it to move/sunk. Would really appreciate it if anyone can give some suggestion.
