Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Mar 17, 2009 11:07 pm Hi there,
We have pulled up the ceramic tiles from the kitchen/dining areas, because we wish to lay solid timber flooring. We hired a tile lifter/chipper to pull up the tiles & most of the adhesive. However, there are still sections of adhesive on the concrete floor and what appears to be staining on the concrete. How do we go about getting the rest of it up? We have tried "Glue rid" but all that did was stink the house for awhile. We have tried using a scraper. We have also tried using a grinder with wire brush attachment. Does anyone know of a better and dare I say it...easier way of doing it??? I am assuming that the concrete needs to be very clean before they put wood flooring down. Re: Removing tile adhesive from concrete floor 2Mar 17, 2009 11:32 pm We have had these issues for a few jobs, being quite a large area we had to hire a concrete grinder a little expensive if you don't have a bit of an area to do for 4hrs.. but worth the heart ake an pack pains if you do it with a normal angle grinder
