I have wirebrushed them and that lightened the colour of the black mould but it is still in there. The bricks that are stippled are those that are mouldy. All of the flat bricks are fine. We were advised to try "exit mould" on them it worked. I guess you'd need to squirt a fair bit of the bottle on to them Could be worth a try.
We have a couple of bricks that look a bit green this time too. We'll probably try th same trick again when we get to handover. Arfur I used bleach and it worked 4Dec 24, 2008 8:39 pm I used cheap household cleaner as it had the same ingredients as the 2.5xmore expensive Exit mould.
It worked very well. I sprayed it on the bricks using a trigger bottle. I didnt even scrub it and most of the black stain has dissapeared. When I buy some more bleach I will spray it again and scrub it. Should solve the problem. I am renovating a 3 bed house. I have no trades experience but I am keen to learn how renovate.
