We are in the process of painting internal walls in a relatively old house. one of the rooms has a serious amount of bluetac on the walls, Short of manually scratching each tiny bit off is there and easy way of washing this off?? Re: Old Bluetac on walls 3Dec 14, 2008 4:04 pm Brad & Ree…I’m unaware of anything that will wash it off.
Best option would to be get as much off as you can via scratching and then sand the rest off with sandpaper, which you need to do before painting anyway. I have just done this in my bathroom, it sands off really easily donuts eucalyptus oil? I would not introduce any oil to paint work at all, not sure if this is a good thing! It will bleed into the existing paint and paint generally will not stick to it, therefore will peel off later. I had this problem in my daughter’s old room.
