I have dug up the pipe just after the water meter in preparation for a plumber to come and have a look and I am wondering how much trouble I am in. The pipe connection right where it connects to the meter is stuffed, that much is obvious, but after digging a little more out I have uncovered the pipe more, I am just wondering if this is how copper pipes normally look after minimum 10 years (how long I have been here) of being underground or will the entire line need replacing. I came across this website with a few pictures and it got me wondering about temporary solutions. The blue hose is the kind of thing I am wondering about. https://inspectapedia.com/plumbing/Plastic_v_Copper.php Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Water mains pipe needs replacing. 2Apr 17, 2022 10:09 am That looks like corrosion on that pipe so it may not be copper which would be odd.
