Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jan 06, 2022 8:02 pm Apologies , if similar to this has previously been discussed. I have recently had repairs done to 2 x in ground rainwater tanks. This required cutting of the existing 100mm DWV pipe coming from house drainpipes to both tanks. 2 x DEKS 100mm Dek rubber joiners were installed in a movement repair to the pipe close to the inlet , about 3 years ago , this joiner is in the ground so unseen. After repairs to tanks I reinstated the pipe work with an addition of a glued slip coupling applied to where the pipe was removed for earthworks. I would say I never applied all the rules with this joiner i.e. twist once glue has been applied to both joining surfaces etc. I now have a small drip as this part of the system is water charged and probably the lowest point in the pipe ,so water stays there even during dry weather , whereas the original couplings are further down and only have water flowing past (not charged). Is it possible to use a DEKS coupling in this situation , planning on using 4 SS clamps not just the two. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thanks in advance. Re: Joining 100MM Charged DWV System 2Jul 07, 2022 10:19 am Have only just seen this thread. No doubt you have already fixed the leak but the DEKS coupling would be fine to use. You probably had a bit of grit or similar on one of the surfaces. I assume you never used primer which should always be used on a charged pipe plus a quick twist on the pipe when inserting into the fitting is always best as you mentioned. 3in1 Supadiverta.
