Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Aug 24, 2012 12:48 am Hey guys, I had a party while my parents were away and a lot of alcohol was spilt on my parents Shellac table. I have a week before they come back and I tried to clean up the stains with a small amount of methylated spirits but I think I used too much and it seems to have dissolved the shellac and now parts of it seems grey and duller compared to the rest in blotches. Can I just touch it up with some Shellac and feather it near the edges to get it to blend or should I just do the whole table? Much appreciated, CP. Re: URGENT: Help needed with Shellac table! 2Aug 24, 2012 9:31 am Do the whole top. Like anything - cork floor , timber floor etc if you damage a piece then without stripping the whole thing there is a big chance you will either make it worse or the patched area will stand out. If it is an antique table I'd get a pro to do it though and I'd tell your parents you spilled some coke ( as in coca-cola ) on it. Good luck ! Stewie Stewie Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3945 Hi, Really struggling to find some consistency amongst Span Tables, can anyone help… 0 3038 thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 17420 |
