Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jun 04, 2012 12:49 am Hi there, Im getting desperate with my water problems under my house and any advice would be greatly apprecaited. My house is on a sloping block (2 houses above me). Water is slipping under my footings along the side of my house (like someone has turned the tap). The side of the house is besser block (core filled), and i have just excavated along the side of the wall at least 50cm deeper than the previous house footing and core-filled with concrete another solid wall against the house besser blocks in an effort to create a barrier. The concrete has set and iv applied waterproofing membrane (from Bunnings) and coreflux protective sheets against the new wall. I haven't back filled the trench, but with recent rain i noticed some water still creeping under my house (im devastated). My intention was to place a 100m agi pipe with drainage gravel on top, but now im scared to do this and backfill if water still enters under my house. Is there any options left, im desperate please help as i thought i did all the right things. Do i need to concrete the bottom of my trench before i lay my agi pipe (will this help) or do i apply some membrane/ash dust? Any options? Re: Brisbane - Water Under House Slab 2Jun 04, 2012 12:14 pm Without seeing it for myself its hard to give really good advice but I would just put the aggi pipe in gravel at the bottom of the trench. Water will generally seek the path of least resistance so sealing the bottom of the trench is not a good idea. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! If you are able to send me a PM I can give you the names of a couple in Brisbane. Cheers mgilla Re: Brisbane - Water Under House Slab 4Jul 06, 2012 2:06 am Waterproofing from Bunnings ? See some things are NOT DIY and waterproofing isnt , in the situation and positioning of your house the area you treated should have been tanked . not some liquid membrane that is breathable under constant pressure Needs a proper torch on membrane done by a proper waterproofing Installer , waterproofing should never be taken lightly Thanks for your advice. So far i have not noticed any issues with doors and windows. Builder advised they will organise drainers to inspect 2 weeks ago but no further… 7 26089 Just removed 40 liters of water in the span of 2 hours. Water fills up the hole just above the seepage point and doesn't overflow. 1 2285 4 6132 |
